We are What we eat
《食壤》延續了2021年奧地利林茲電子藝術節年度策展子題「Taste Your Soil」。因應疫情下，全球的生活樣貌發生鉅變，在跨國移動受到實體空間限制之下，藝術節與文化交流活動皆大大受阻，這也使得人們有更多的時間在自己所身處的土地上停留，進而重新反思人與土地間種種的相互關係。藝術家因此希望透過真實的吞嚥與咀嚼，以味覺及行為探索的方式來深入個人與土地之間的鏈結。
為此，黃心健與國際名廚江振誠、當代表演藝術家張逸軍共同發想創作，希望從官方的「Taste Your Soil」進一步衍生《食壤》(We Are What We Eat)XR共感作品，融入料理、舞蹈、行為藝術、影像與XR體驗，讓觀者以味覺、視覺與觸覺，顛覆既有的體感形式，享受一場根植於土地的饗宴。
We Are What We Eat continues with “Taste Your Soil,” a sub-theme of the 2021 Ars Electronica Festival. Under the pandemic, lifestyles over the world have been impacted, and international travel has been restricted, which has also led to repercussions for art festivals and cultural exchanges. As a result, people have more time to stay on their land and are inspired to reflect on their relationships with the soil. Through swallowing and chewing, the artist hopes to delve into the bond between individuals and the land through different tastes and behaviors.
The XR work We Are What We Eat is created in collaboration with world-renowned chef André Chiang and contemporary performance artist Billy Chang and hopes to extend the official theme “Taste Your Soil” by incorporating cuisine, dance, performance art, image, and XR experiences, overturning visitors’ previous sensory experiences and enabling them to enjoy a feast of the land through taste, sight, and touch.
